Mr. Food: Chicken Fricassee

Serves: 6

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil< br>
  • 2 large onions, chopped< br>
  • 4 lbs split chicken wings< br>
  • 3 (12oz) jars of beef gravy< br>
  • 1 teaspoon paprika < br>
  • 1 teaspoon sugar < br>
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder < br>
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper < br>
  • 2 lbs ground beef< br>
  • 2 eggs< br>
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs< br>
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder< br>
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

    Instructions

  • In a soup pot, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add onions, and saute until softened. Add chicken wings and cook about 15 minutes, or until golden, stirring occasionally.< br>
  • Add gravy, paprika, sugar, garlic powder, and black pepper, and cook over medium heat about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.< br>
  • Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, bread crumbs, onion powder, and salt. Roll into small meatballs.
  • Gradually add meatballs to pot and cook 20 to 30 more minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through, stirring mixture frequently but carefully to avoid breaking meatballs.
