Dog found nearly dead, rescued in N. Phila.

PHILADELPHIA - July 17, 2011

The dog, now being called Columbo, was found chained to a fence on the 1900 block of Morse Street.

The chain rubbed the dog's neck raw, and the wound was infested with maggots.

April Moyer, of the "Adopt-A-boxer" rescue group says Columbo is rebounding well.

"He'd be great in any family. In addition, we want to find out who did this to him. If there is anyone out there who knows anything, we are looking for information," said Moyer.

The rescue group put up a $1000 reward in the hope of finding the person responsible for hurting Columbo.
