'No country' star calls for global actors rights

When it comes to movie pirates, the 42-year-old Oscar winner is more understanding.

Little wonder, his wife Penelope Cruz played one in the recent blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

Still, the Spanish actor says downloading films for free hurts nine out of ten actors already struggling to pay the bills.

Bardem appeared at the United Nations in Geneva on Tuesday to call for a new international treaty to protect actors rights across the globe.

And he wants movie tickets to be cheaper so that even would-be pirates go to see a film at the theater once in a while.
