Del. man struck, killed while filling gas tank

An unidentified male victim was killed in the crash and 29-year old Rose Thomas is still being treated for serious injuries.

State Police are investigating a fatal crash in New Castle, Delaware, that left one person dead and another injured.

The accident happened around 10:35 p.m. on Airport Road near Commons Road.

Authorities tell Action News that 29-year old Rose Thomas and her 32-year old boyfriend ran out of gas along the road.

They were in the process of putting gas into their Jeep when they were hit by a vehicle and thrown onto the roadway.

The driver of the vehicle, 42-year old John Zutell was unharmed and stopped shortly after.

Both victims were transported to Christiana Hospital.

The unidentified male victim was pronounced dead, while Thomas is still being treated for serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
