At around 7:30 p.m. the Bridgeton Fire Department was called out to the report of a fire at the H. H. Hankins & Bro. building on 12 West Broad Street.
Once on the scene, crews quickly struck a second alarm, followed by a third.
The H.H. Hankins & Bro. building houses lumber and other construction materials.
Firefighters were able to knock it down, but because the business houses wood and other supplies, crews had to stay on scene to douse hot spots.
No injuries were reported.
The cause is under investigation.
