Suspects who left behind 4-year-old found guilty

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - August 2, 2011

John Benson, 48, and Sheakia Stubbs, 32, were convicted of robbery, attempted murder, and other related offenses.

Prosecutors say they held up the Platinum and Ice Jewelry Store on February 27, 2010.

During the robbery, police say Benson slashed the jewelry store owner's throat.

The pair ran off and left their 4-year-old son standing on the sidewalk.

Benson is facing a minimum of 10 to 20 years in prison.

Their sentencing is scheduled for September 21, 2011.
