Man gets 10 to 20 years in Pa. home invasion death

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - August 18, 2011

The (Allentown) Morning Call says Lehigh County Judge Maria Dantos imposed the maximum sentence Tuesday on 20-year-old Marcus Breeland in the July 2008 killing of 47-year-old David Walterick of Allentown.

The victim's wife, LeAnna Walterick, told Breeland that she forgave him and wanted him to do something with his life. Breeland wept as he apologized to her, saying the events replay each day in his mind.

Breeland pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and testified against co-defendant Bobby Riddick, who was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to life. Authorities said the two intended to steal marijuana and cash, but Riddick ended up killing the victim.
