Friday cleanup from Thursday's storm damage

August 19, 2011

It was a rude awakening for folks in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia Friday morning.

A tree snapped and crashed onto a car and front porch below.

The homeowner tells action news he heard a big bang about 3:00am before he saw the branches next to the bedroom window.

And crews in Lower Merion Township had to call in a beekeeper before they could remove a large tree in the 1600 block of Lafayette Road that came crashing down in after Thursday night's storm.

And heavy rains kept road crews busy.

In Wilmington, officials closed Marsh Road and Chestnut Street.

High water caused a partial collapse of the roadways.
