Tree branch falls on 4 Penn State Abington students

ABINGTON, Pa. - August 22, 2011

Penn State Abington officials say at approximately 3:15 p.m., a group of four students were struck by a branch that fell from a tree on campus.

They say all of the students required some form of medical treatment and all were taken to Abington Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

School officials say they regularly evaluate the condition of the trees on its campuses and say the most recent review at Penn State Abington was conducted this summer.

The names of the students have not been released.
