Teller shot in Mercer Co. bank robbery

HAMILTON, N.J. - August 23, 2011

Police say it was just after 10:00 a.m. when the gunman walked into a Chase Bank, located at 1850 Klockner Road, near White Horse Avenue.

According to authorities, the robber entered the bank, approached the teller counter, waived and pointed a silver revolver at the teller and fired. He escaped on foot with an undisclosed sum of cash.

The robber is described as a black male, 6'2, athletic, muscular build, wearing a black ball cap, blue jeans, dark glasses, black gloves, tan work boots, and a dark blue long sleeve shirt.

The teller was transported to the hospital and was undergoing surgery. Her condition is unknown at this time.

The suspect remains at large. State Police searched the area with their canine units and a helicopter.
