Twenty-eight-year-old Shayna Zalcberg of Coventry, R.I., also is charged with vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated.
Monmouth County prosecutors say Zalcberg was driving in Freehold Township on July 27 when she lost control of her vehicle and struck another.
Feliciano Colon died of his injuries and another passenger remains hospitalized.
Zalcberg appeared in court in Rhode Island on Monday and agreed to return to New Jersey to face the charges.
