Co-owner of AC casino helps nab theft suspect
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - September 3, 2011
Dennis Gomes was attending a birthday party in a restaurant at
Resorts Casino Hotel on Friday night when he noticed a man who
appeared to take a package from underneath a nearby table.
The man ran off when he saw Gomes approaching him. But the
veteran casino executive - who also is a former police officer and
Las Vegas mob investigator - pursued the man through the casino
floor.
The guard, who happened to be nearby, saw the chase and quickly
joined Gomes in his pursuit. The chase then continued up a down
escalator before Gomes and the guard eventually subdued the
suspect.
