Broken water main floods stretch of Roosevelt Blvd.

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA - September 3, 2011

According to the Philadelphia Water Department, the 16-inch main burst around 5:00 a.m. Saturday

Water quickly flooded the inner lanes of the street.

The force of the water has also buckled part of the road.

Police have closed all Northbound and Southbound inner lanes, but the outer lanes remain open.

Crews were still in the process of shutting down the water.

As of now, a nearby strip mall is without water, but they are working to supply water from another source.

The Philadelphia Water Department will remain on the scene until the problem is resolved.
