According to the report published by the Williams Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, Rehoboth ranks fourth among cities with populations under 100,000. Census data shows Rehoboth had 106.87 same-sex couples per 1,000 people.
Rehoboth ranks behind Provincetown, Mass., Wilton Manors, Fla., and Palm Springs, Calif. The city of Guerneville, Calif., rounded out the top five.
Some officials in Rehoboth tell The Daily Times that they expect the ranking to have a positive effect on tourism as it bolsters the city's image of diversity.
