FBI seeks suspect in 4 Phila. bank robberies

PHILADELPHIA - September 7, 2011

The most recent robbery occurred at the TD Bank branch at 4020 City Avenue.

In each of the robberies, the FBI says the man presents a threatening demand note to a teller, indicating he is armed with a gun. However, no gun is displayed. After getting the cash, the man then flees the area on foot.

There have been no injuries reported.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20's, 5'7" to 5'9" tall, with a very thin build. He has worn hats and/or hooded sweatshirts in each of the robberies.

The same man is also believed to be responsible for the robberies of the Citizens Bank branch at 6052 Ridge Avenue on September 3rd, the Wells Fargo branch at 6918 Ridge Avenue on September 1st, and the Continental Bank branch at 7133 Ridge Avenue on August 29th.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject's capture, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
