Police are looking for the man who sexually assaulted a woman who had just visited a cemetery in Cape May County, New Jersey.

The attack happened shortly before 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the Fairview Methodist Cemetery in Middle Township.

A resident on Orbit Drive called police after a bleeding woman came to his home, knocked on the door, and asked that police be called.

Officers arrived to find the 29-year-old victim, from Avalon. She told police she had just visited a cemetery plot and - upon returning to her car - was sexually assaulted by a man who had been hiding around the vehicle.

The woman was able to break free and ran to the home on Orbit Drive.

She described the attacker as a white male, thin build, late 20's to early 30's, buzz cut hair with a light beard on the sides and heavier hair on his mustache and chin. He was wearing shorts and a white baggy t-shirt.

The woman was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Middle Township Police Major Crimes Unit at 609-465-8700 or Cape May County CrimeStoppers at 609-465-2800.
