New trial date set in Pa. taped elder abuse case

MEDIA, Pa. - September 14, 2011

The Delaware County Daily Times reports the new trial date is November 14 for the three assisted living facility workers accused of abusing the 78-year-old Alzheimer's patient.

Nineteen-year-old Ayesha Muhammad, and 21-year-old Tyrina Griffin, both of Philadelphia, and 22-year-old Samirah Traynham, of Yeadon, had been scheduled to go on trial Monday.

Authorities say the woman's family set up a camera and captured footage showing the defendants taunting the woman as she stood half-naked in her room at the Quadrangle Continuing Care Retirement Community in Haverford.

Prosecutors dropped aggravated assault charges at a hearing in June.
