At around 2:40 p.m., authorities and medics were called out to the 600 block of North Shedwick Street for the report of a shooting.
When they arrived, they were told a man and a woman were shot and taken by a private automobile to St. Joseph's Hospital.
Police say a 28-year-old female was shot in the back and hand. She is in serious condition.
The other victim, a 33-year-old male, was shot in the leg. He is stable.
At this time, it is not clear what led up to the shooting.
