Western Pa. man pleads in prized cow's killing

SOMERSET, Pa. (AP) - September 21, 2011

Twenty-year-old Graysen Randy Anderson, of Somerset, pleaded guilty to felony agricultural vandalism and other charges on Tuesday. A sentencing date was not set.

Police say Anderson and two other men killed the prize-winning cow overnight June 25-26, 2010. Police say Anderson and the others butchered the Angus cross-breeding cow in a field at Wheeler Show Cattle in Somerset Township - and were cooking the beef when troopers arrived at a home to question the men.

The Daily American of Somerset reports that crime ended a string that began Aug. 21, 2009, when Anderson set a vacant house on fire.
