2 NJ Turnpike toll collectors get jail for theft

TRENTON, N.J. - September 22, 2011

A judge on Thursday also barred 55-year-old Glenn Huryan of Magnolia and 62-year-old William Fagan III of Chews Landing from public employment in New Jersey. Both pleaded guilty to theft in July.

Prosecutors say the men obtained toll tickets near the South Jersey interchanges where they worked and substituted them for tickets from motorists who traveled a longer distance and paid higher tolls. The men pocketed the difference.

The judge ordered Huryan to pay $6,000 in restitution based on what was stolen. Fagan must pay $4,835.
