Police say the suspects did not produce the material, but trafficked it for their own gratification. They're charged with possession and distribution of video and images of children who ranged from infants to preteens.
Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik called the seven-month investigation the "tip of the iceberg."
The Record reports Berdnik described the alleged participation of four 16-year-olds and one 17-year-old as "quite troubling."
More investigations are likely to follow.
