25th annual AIDS Walk Philly

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - October 11, 2011

That's why awareness is a major emphasis of the 25th annual AIDS Walk Philly, this coming Sunday on Eakins Oval.

Organizers say science has made major advances in treatment, but it means nothing if a patient doesn't know and doesn't seek it. Free HIV testing will be available right at the race site Sunday morning.

This will be rapid-result testing, so anyone who takes a test will have results in about 20 minutes. The event also raises money for patient care and research.

Every penny raised at the event stays right in the Delaware Valley.

Pieces from the AIDS quilt will be on display, a tribute to patients and a reminder of just how broad the epidemic is. For more information, visit their website, AIDS Walk Philly , or phone 215-731-WALK (215-731-9255).
