ID released of motorcyclist injured in fall off I-95

WILMINGTON - October 7, 2011

Police have identified the driver as Joshua J. Kinser, 35, of New Castle, Delaware.

According to police it was approximately 9:30 p.m. Thursday as Kinser was traveling on the elevated section of the I-95 Northbound on-ramp from Martin Luther King Boulevard on a 2006 Yamaha X-17 motorcycle.

Kinser lost control of the motorcycle and struck a concrete barrier wall. He was ejected from the motorcycle and plunged approximately 40 feet to the street below, landing in the area of West Third Street and Adams Street in Wilmington.

Paramedics transported Kinser to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where he is listed in serious condition.

The preliminary investigation reveals that alcohol is considered a factor in the crash.

Kinser was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
