The event is taking place at the Bernie Robbins Jewelers in Marlton, New Jersey.
The jeweler is teaming up with Circa , a global company that buys jewelry and sterling silver.
Harvey Rovinsky of Bernie Robbins explains, "They're going to be here with their appraisers and with their buyers, and going to partner with us. We're going to invite people to come in and sell their unworn jewelry and other precious things that they own that they no longer use."
Unlike gold-buyers, Circa evaluates items as complete pieces -- not just by the weight of the metal.
They'll take things like a broken strand of South Sea pearls or blue star sapphire ring, which Rovinsky showed us.
"This is a 30-year-old Blue Star sapphire ring. Gold-buying places put it on a scale and they buy it that way," he explains. "However, this sapphire has significant value to it . (Circa) will eveluate it on the value of the jewelry, as opposed to just the weight."
And here's the added bonus. If you want to accept Circa's offer, you can walk out of the jewelers with a check. Or, you can opt for a Bernie Robbins gift card for an extra 20% over Circa's offer.
Rovinsky offers an example of the deal. "Circa will offer you $1000, we will offer you $1200 to purchase one of our great things and make a selection while you're here or take a gift card for that value."
The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, and Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at the Bernie Robbins location at 500 Route 73 South in Marlton, New Jersey. Appointments are suggested. For more information, click here.
