22 month old Jasir Clark had been hospitalized since the accident around 12:15 p.m. on Sunday.
Police say a Chevrolet SUV was making a left turn from Allegheny Avenue onto Fox Street when the back door opened and Jasir fell.
He was then struck by a 2009 Pontiac G6.
Police say the male driver of the SUV got out of the vehicle, picked up the child, and took him to Temple University Hospital.
The driver of the Pontiac did stop at the scene.
So far, no charges have been filed in this case.
