$245M Powerball jackpot send ticket sales soaring

PHILADELPHIA - November 2, 2011

The chances of winning the Powerball jackpot are just over one in 195 million, but someone has to win, so why not go for it.

The sale of Powerball tickets have grown since no one won in Saturday night's drawing which increased the jackpot by $41 million. People who have never played bought tickets for the Wednesday night drawing.

"If I win, I'm going to take care of my community, South Philly," said Veronica Rex.

Many people dreamed of what they would do with $245 million or $146 million before taxes if they choose to take a cash payout.

Felicia Craig says she would, "Pay them credit people that keep calling my house."

"Maybe I'll get Mayor Nutter out of debt," says Anthony Marchesa.

There were also those who say they would be living it up big time if they win.

"Just live a stress-free life, that's all I would do," said Henry Williams.

No more working for Patty Heller. "A lot of vacation, maybe Vegas," she said.

"I have a great grandson that has cerebral palsy, and I would take him to the best hospital in the United States to get his legs straighten out so he can walk," said Ruth Wooten.

Ticket holders watched and wait, and if no one wins in Wednesday night's drawing, the jackpot grows even larger.

The Powerball numbers for Wednesday, November 2nd are: 46, 39, 34, 14, 12 and PB 36.
