2 trapped by live wires on SUV after crash

WASHINGTON TWP., N.J. - November 8, 2011

The accident happened just past 6:00 a.m. on Hurff Lane at the Black Horse Pike.

The driver and a passenger were trapped in the vehicle while rescuers attempted to shut down power to the downed wires.

Complicating rescue efforts, telephone wires attached to the damaged utility pole were set aflame from the impact of the crash.

The driver and the passenger were finally extricated from the vehicle and transported to the hospital. The severity of their injuries is unknown at this time.

There no word on what may have caused the driver to lose control of the SUV.
