On Nov. 3, police responded to the store in Dover for the report of a fraud taking place.
The suspect, 29-year-old Shanelle E. Smallwood attempted to purchase over $2,000 in electronics with fraudulent American Express Gift Checks.
Smallwood tried to flee the scene, but was quickly apprehended in the store's parking lot.
Police found over 30 counterfeit gift checks in the suspect's possession at the time of the arrest.
Authorities also discovered over $1,800 in miscellaneous electronics that were illegally purchased from another Wal-Mart store.
Smallwood faces charges of attempted theft and forgery. She remains in police custody.
