CoupTessa's Annamarie Jones says that's what makes the site unique.
"CoupTessa differentiates itself by being more boutique-y," Jones says. "Our subscribers are pretty much all women and they're high-end and they're women that are discerning but still like to access a good deal."
We spoke with Jones at La Dolce Photography's studio in Manayunk. La Dolce's offering two deals on CoupTessa: a single-person professional photo shoot or a group "Dynasty" shoot, complete with makeup, costumes and jewelry.
Both are 50-60% off the regular price. For the new studio, offering the discounts is a way to get the word out to a targeted audience, explains owner Alan Bogursky.
"Our value here is for someone to come in and experience the experience from front to back, the makeup, the photoshoot, the viewing, just the fun that they have here. it's a very fun place."
Subscribing to CoupTessa is free and you're not obligated to buy anything. Deals stay on the site for three days.Beth Pensabene was of the first subscribers in this area.
"I got the keratin treatment," she says. "My hair's naturally wavy and I'm excited to go. Normally, it's $200-$300 and I'm going to be able to do it for $90."
