Firefighters arrived at an apartment building in the 1300 block of Harrison Street around 11:30 last night.
The owner's behavior prompted fire crews to call police.
Police arrived and found two grenades and other weapons in the basement.
Six apartments were evacuated while the police and the bomb squad investigated.
According to police, the grenades were found to be inactive.
