Mrs. Fixit: Alternative Uses for Tissue Paper

If you find yourself with an excess of tissue paper during the holidays, I have some creative uses for all of it.

Tissue paper is both soft and can cushion.

So use crumpled paper to wrap and support gifts for shipping.

Crumple all that tissue paper and stuff it into shoes, boots and handbags to help them keep their shape when you store them when they're not in use.

Kids can use tissue paper to make fun holiday crafts like wreaths or cards that look like they have a stained glass front.

To make inexpensive decorative candle holders, use some decoupage gllue to adhere tissue paper to the outside of a votive holder or other glass jar. You can either use one color or rip different colors into smaller pieces to make a more colorfiul display. Let it dry completely and then drop a votive in for a soft flickering glow.

Easy ideas for reusing all that holiday tissue paper. I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple.
