The incident happened around 7:10 a.m. on the 1700 block of W. Hunting Park Avenue. The school bus was travelling westbound on the block when, police say, the teen darted out into traffic and was struck by the right front mirror of the bus.
The 14-year-old boy suffered abrasions and cuts to the face and a possible broken right leg. He was transported to St. Christophers Hospital in stable condition.
The victim's identity has not been released.
All the children who were on board the bus at the time of the incident are fine and were transferred to another bus and continued on to school.
