23 charged in Penn State riots after JoePa firing

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - December 9, 2011

The Centre Daily Times reports State College police on Thursday released a list of 23 people now charged in the Nov. 9 riot that broke out a few days after longtime Paterno assistant Jerry Sandusky was charged with sexually assaulting young boys.

Authorities say charges are pending against 16 others.

The Centre Daily Times report says four of those charged are accused of tipping over a WTAJ-TV news van.

Paterno and school President Graham Spanier were ousted amid questions about the way high-ranking officials at the school handled allegations of abuse.
