The Delaware County Daily Times says 39-year-old Eddie Lockhart of Newark, Del., died of multiple gunshot wounds before his body was left in the weed-strewn Chester lot, where it was found Friday.
Police have said they believe the victim was killed elsewhere. Officials said they were told that Lockhart left Justyce Barber Shop in Wilmington at about noon Wednesday, saying he was going to Philadelphia. Authorities are now searching for his car.
Last spring, the body of another man was found wrapped in trash bags on another lot on the same block.
