Fire crews were on the scene of a blaze along the 1800 block of S Taylor Street a little after 6:30 Friday morning.
After the fire was out, crews say Lieutenant Michael Brady said he wasn't feeling well and passed out.
He was alert however, as emergency crews rushed him to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Lt. Brady is now undergoing tests, but is said to be doing well.
Meanwhile everyone in the home got out safely.
The fire marshal is still investigating what sparked the fire.
