Residents chased out by fire in Camden

CAMDEN, N.J. - December 27, 2011

The blaze broke out around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday on the 800 block of South 8th Street.

Fire crews were able to rescue the occupants, including three children, from the upper floor of the house.

They were evaluated for any injuries.

It took about a half hour to get the fire under control.

The Camden County Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting the seven displaced residents. They have been set up in a motel for the next few nights and given vouchers for food and clothing.

The fire cause is believed to be electrical in nature, starting in a wall inside the home.
