Arrest in Del. NY Eve stabbing

REHOBOTH, Del. - January 2, 2012

It happened Saturday night at 9:20 in Rehoboth.

Police say 34-year-old Lavar W. Hall stabbed a 19-year-old man from Havre de Grace, Maryland after a confrontation in the 19000 block of Norwood Street. They say Hall was angry over an incident that took place the night before, when the victim allegedly pointed an air gun at Hall.

Police say on Saturday night Hall began arguing with the victim. The fight turned physical, then Hall allegedly pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the victim several times in the upper body before fleeing the scene.

The victim ran to a nearby driveway and collapsed. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Hall was arrested a short time later when he returned to the scene. He is charged with one count each of 1st degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. He is being held on $20,000 bail.
