NJ runner has completed marathons in all 50 states

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - January 3, 2012

Massoud Messkoub of Morris Township completed his to-do list of races in every state on Dec. 11, when he finished the 26.2-miles of the Honolulu Marathon.

The 66-year-old court mediator ran a bit in the 1970s, but stopped when he had back pain.

He got back into it about a decade ago - in a big way. His first marathon was in Philadelphia in 2002 and he's done one in each state since then.

His total is 33 races, including one in Wash9ington D.C., one in Quebec City, Canada, and ne in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

He tells The Daily Record of Parsippany he plans to run more internationally and try some ultra-marathons..
