WOODBURY, N.J. (AP) - January 8, 2012

Thirty-two-year-old Shaun Jones of Millville also must pay $5,705 in restitution for the damage done to a Mantua Township police cruiser during the August 2010 pursuit.

It started at an Elk Township convenience store, where police were investigating a shoplifting report, and ended on Route 55 in Mantua.

Prosecutors say that when he was captured, Jones told police that he had ingested 18 bags of heroin that day. He pleaded guilty last October to charges of eluding and driving while under the influence of drugs.

At his sentencing Friday, Jones also received a concurrent six-year sentence for unrelated burglary.
