He can't talk quite yet, but his parents spoke only with Action News and shared the unusual story of his birth.
Around 8:00 Thursday morning Christine Haines realized she was in labor.
She and her 2-year-old son Matthew, along with her boyfriend John Blaney and a friend loaded into the car. From their home in Northeast Philadelphia they made their way to the hospital in Bristol.
It seems that their little bundle of joy wasn't in the mood to wait for a long car ride.
"About halfway there she starts screaming real loud and I didn't know what to do," said Blaney.
Just as Blaney approached the Bristol exit off I-95, their son Christopher Haines made his appearance - right onto the floor mat near the front seat.
"She started doing deep breathing and I looked at the road. When I looked down I saw the baby's head coming and I got really scared," said Blaney.
Haines was just as shocked as everyone else.
"The pressure was released so I thought I was fine but he told me to keep pushing and the baby was on the floor," she said.
Blaney kept driving until he was able to flag down an ambulance. EMTs brought the new parents and their son to the hospital.
Although Blaney's friend Tim was a bit traumatized by their adventure, big brother Matthew took it all in stride.
"My son was happy, he kept screaming, 'baby baby baby!" said Blaney.
Despite the action packed arrival, Christine and baby Christopher are doing very well.
Mom and her new baby expect to be home Saturday.
