It happened shortly after midnight on the 300 block of Home Avenue.
Crews responded to the scene after reports that there were several people trapped inside.
Three residents made it out on their own. Firefighters rescued one victim from a room on the second floor.
The victim was found unconscious and taken to Helene Fuld Medical Center in critical condition.
A firefighter was also taken to the hospital for possible hand injuries.
Authorities say the blaze appears to be accidental.
