Police: Man beat, robbed 2 women in Atlantic Co.

BRIGANTINE, N.J. - January 15, 2012

On Saturday, police received a report that a woman was tied up and beaten inside of her home.

Arriving officers learned that two women had arrived home from work to find 35-year-old Shawn Braxton, the boyfriend of one of the victims.

One of the women told police that Braxton got into an argument with her.

When the other woman walked in on the argument she allegedly witnessed her friend being assaulted.

According to the woman, at that point Braxton threw both of them on the bed, attacked them with his fists, a baseball bat and a belt, and threatened to kill them.

One of the victims told police that Braxton was armed with a silver revolver, but it was not used in the attack.

After the assault, Braxton allegedly unbound the victims, telling them to go to sleep.

He then fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash in the car of one of the victims.

The SUV he sped away in is described as a black 2003 GMC Envoy bearing a New Jersey license plate V47-ABU.

Braxton is wanted by police on multiple charges including Aggravated Assault, Criminal Restraint, Robbery and Terroristic Threats.

He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is urged to contact law enforcement immediately.
