Investigators arrested Brent L. Kane, 22, of Seaford, Delaware after the girl recently told her father about the incident which happened in August 2009.
The girl told her father that Kane -- who was already a registered sex offender from a conviction in 2003 -- was at her home visiting her brothers when she fell asleep. Then, she says, Kane "picked her up, took her to a bedroom, and sexually assaulted her," according to the report filed by the Delaware State Police.
Kane faces a rape charge and is locked up at the Sussex Correctional Institution.
An investigation into Brent Kane by detectives is continuing at this time.
