15 displaced by Chester house fire

CHESTER, Pa. - January 16, 2012

The fire broke out shortly after 3:00 p.m. in a home on the 100 block of East Avon Road.

Those inside were able to get out of the home before firefighters arrived.

The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes.

The fire reportedly started on the stove in the kitchen and spread to the walls.

The Chester Fire Department says 15 people have been displaced.

Red Cross of Southeastern PA is providing clothes, winter coats, shoes, and at least three nights of lodging to the family, 8 adults and 7 children under the age of 13, following the fire.
