The incident occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. Monday as a 2004 Mercedes Benz SUV being driven by Michele Endrich, 58, of Landenberg, PA was traveling through the parking lot of the Walgreens located at the corner of Limestone Road and Valley Road.
Police say Endrich lost control of her SUV, accelerated toward the building, jumped a curb onto the sidewalk, and the front of the Mercedes struck the wall of the Walgreens.
Michele Endrich was transported by ambulance to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
No injuries were reported inside of the Walgreens.
A New Castle County building inspector responded to the scene and found the structural integrity of the building to be unsafe due to the damage from the crash.
The Walgreens remains closed for business at this time.
Troopers continue to investigate this crash.
