Eagles tight end Brent Celek passenger in DUI crash

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - January 26, 2012

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on the ramp to Packer Avenue off I-95 in South Philadelphia.

Police say the driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Sean Glynn, was going too fast for the road conditions when he lost control of his 2012 Audi A8L and slammed into a concrete barrier on the right side of the roadway.

Officers arrived on the scene and subjected Glynn to a sobriety test. The test determined that Glynn was driving under the influence. He was arrested and charged.

Celek, who turned 27 on Wednesday, was one of four passengers in the car. Luckily, no one in the car was injured.

In a statement released through the team Thursday morning, Celek said he used "extremely poor judgment." He went on to say that he didn't know the driver was drunk but that it wasn't an excuse and promised to never let it happen again.
