The fire broke out around 10:00 a.m. at a vacant barn on the 2900 block of Limestone Road in Pike Creek, Delaware.
Heavy flames were reported upon arrival. It took almost an hour to bring the blaze under control shortly before the barn collapsed.
No one was inside the barn at the time but investigators say it appeared that some homeless people may have been living there.
The fire remains under investigation.
