Natalie Cole: Running low on esteem

She says she did some poking around, asking other celebrities who became addicts - and found most of them had low self-esteem. She says in her case, she felt that no matter what she did, she felt her name wasn't Natalie Cole - but "the daughter of Nat King Cole." She also says falling in with a bad crowd didn't help. Cole eventually kicked her habit, but not without cost. She had hepatitis C - a disease she says was probably caused by her drug use. She also suffered kidney disease - but is doing better now that she has received a donor organ.
