2 injured in NE Phila. crash, pole knocked down

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA - January 31, 2012

The crash occurred around 6:10 p.m. along the eastbound lanes of Woodhaven Road near Knights Road.

The driver of a car lost control and slammed into a utility pole. The crash caused two males to be ejected from the vehicle.

Police found a 21-year-old suffering a broken leg and a man in his 20s unconscious at the scene.

Both were rushed to Aria Hospital-Torresdale Division for care.

The man in his 20s remains critical.

All eastbound lanes of traffic along Woodhaven were shut down during rush hour causing a backlog of traffic that stretched at least a half mile.
