Ackerman denied unemployment benefits

PHILADELPHIA - February 1, 2012

The former Philadelphia schools superintendent was given $905,000 to walk away from her job last August.

The deal also allowed her to file for unemployment benefits.

She could have collected nearly $600 a week.

Today, Dr. Ackerman told Action News she was not going to fight the decision.

She said, "The Philadelphia chapter of my life is behind me. I've done all that I can give to that city."
